May 16, 2019 (BRADENTON, Fla.) – It was announced today that Xenith has been named the official football headgear and shoulder pad provider of IMG Academy. The multi-year relationship is rooted in a mutual commitment to design, testing, and innovation to benefit athletes.

“We’re excited to empower our players with one of the highest safety-rated helmets on the market today,” said IMG Academy Head Football Coach Kevin Wright. “Xenith has worked closely with us to make sure our coaches’ and student-athletes’ needs are met to provide the most comfort, best fit, and highest protection for our players so they can maximize their performance on the field.”

For this year’s spring game, IMG players will wear the Xenith Shadow, the latest of three football helmets developed by the company. Xenith Shadow is designed to be one of the most advanced helmets in the game, joining Epic+ and X2E+. All of Xenith’s helmets are rated five-stars by the Virginia Tech Helmet Ratings and ranked in the Top-Performing Group of the 2019 NFL Helmet Laboratory Testing report.

In addition to wearing industry-leading helmets, IMG Academy players will also be the first to wear Xenith’s new Element line of shoulder pads. Element pads are designed to provide a low profile, lightweight solution for all positions and playing styles. The shoulder pads feature contoured front plates designed to maximize range of motion and mobility.

“We are excited to launch this alliance with IMG Academy, a thought leader committed to the development of student athletes in training, playing, and in living,” said Ryan Sullivan, Xenith CEO. “That commitment is consistent with our focus at Xenith of designing great gear to support the athlete’s needs. We look forward to working with IMG Academy in the years to come, not only on our exciting current lineup of products, but through innovating together for the future of athlete performance and protection.”

The IMG Academy Football program is among the nation’s preeminent programs by finishing each of the past three seasons in the top-five of both the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 and USA TODAY Sports Super 25. A full-member of the Florida High School Athletic Association, the Ascenders have amassed an overall regular season record of 53-4, and guided the development of more than 140 Division-I Football Bowl Subdivision athletes.
