CHOOSING THE RIGHT HELMET SIZE

A proper fitting helmet is integral to a helmet’s performance. Please follow the instructions below to be sure your Xenith product is fitted properly. Measurements for helmet size should be taken 1" inch above the eyebrow around the circumference of the head. The size chart is recommended as a guideline only. Individual head sizes may vary.

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

Follow these steps to ensure your EPIC+ fits properly or reference the videos and additional tutorials on this page. Accessories such as Sizing Pads, Comfort Pads, and Jaw Guards are available to enhance your fit.

1PLACE THE HELMET ON YOUR HEAD

Unbuckle the straps and place the helmet on your head so the front edge rests just above your brow. Then pull the lower chin straps outward until the chin cup slides up to meet your chin. The internal suspension system will tighten until it feels snug and secure around your head.

2ADJUST THE LOW BUCKLES & SECURE

Slide each buckle along the chin strap until you can snap the buckle into place on the outside of the helmet with no discomfort or slack in the straps.

3ADJUST THE HIGH BUCKLES & SECURE

Pull the high chin straps upwards so that the chin cup sits comfortably under your chin. Repeat Step 2 on the high straps, snapping them into place once the helmet is secure and fits comfortably – again making sure there’s no slack in the straps.

4CHECK FOR PROPER FIT

With all four buckles snapped into place, apply mild force to the facemask in multiple directions. If there is excessive movement, tighten the chin straps and readjust the buckles until you’ve achieved a snug, secure fit.

5LOCK THE BUCKLES IN PLACE

Once your helmet is comfortable and secure, feed the end of the chin strap through the second slot of each buckle to lock in the fit.

1MEASURE YOUR HEAD

USING A STANDARD MEASURING TAPE, MEASURE THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF YOUR HEAD AN INCH ABOVE YOUR EYEBROWS. THEN CONSULT THE XENITH EPIC SIZE GUIDE BELOW AND CHOOSE YOUR CORRECT SIZE EPIC HELMET.

2PROPER SETUP

UNBUCKLE ALL FOUR SNAP BUCKLES AND FEED THE CHINSTRAPS THROUGH THE FIRST SLOT OF THE SNAP BUCKLES ONLY. THIS WILL MAKE IT EASIER TO ADJUST THE CHINSTRAPS DURING FITTING.

3SEAT THE HELMET ON YOUR HEAD

ENSURE THE HELMET IS SEATED PROPERLY ON YOUR HEAD. THE FRONT EDGE OF THE HELMET SHOULD REST JUST ABOVE YOUR BROW, AND NOT BE ROTATED EXCESSIVELY FORWARD OR BACKWARD. IF YOU ARE BETWEEN SIZES, CHOOSE THE LARGER SIZE AND INSERT THICKER COMFORT PADS.

4CINCH THE LOW STRAPS

PULL THE LOW CHINSTRAPS OUTWARD, WHICH WILL CAUSE THE CHINCUP TO SLIDE UP TO MEET YOUR CHIN, AND THE SHOCK BONNET TO SNUG DOWN AROUND YOUR HEAD. BE SURE TO PULL EVENLY ON BOTH SIDES SO THAT THE CHINCUP STAYS CENTERED. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN, AS THIS MAY CAUSE DISCOMFORT.

5ADJUST LOW BUCKLES AND SECURE

BRING THE LOW CHINSTRAPS UNDER THE JAWLINE OF THE SHELL (AS SHOWN) AND UP TO THE SNAP. THEN SLIDE EACH BUCKLE ALONG THE CHINSTRAP AND SNAP IT INTO PLACE, LEAVING MINIMAL SLACK IN THE CHINSTRAP.

6ADJUST HIGH BUCKLES AND SECURE

PULL THE HIGH CHINSTRAPS UPWARD SO THAT THE CHINCUP PIVOTS UNDER YOUR CHIN. SLIDE THE BUCKLES DOWN ALONG EACH CHINSTRAP AND SNAP INTO PLACE, LEAVING MINIMAL SLACK IN THE CHINSTRAP.

7CHECK FOR PROPER FIT

WITH ALL FOUR BUCKLES SNAPPED INTO PLACE, APPLY FORCE TO THE FACEMASK IN MULTIPLE DIRECTIONS. IF THERE IS EXCESSIVE MOVEMENT, TIGHTEN THE CHINSTRAPS FURTHER AND READJUST THE BUCKLES. IF THE CHINCUP SLIDES OFF THE CHIN, UNBUCKLE THE HIGH STRAPS AND ADJUST.

8LOCK BUCKLES IN PLACE

ONCE YOU HAVE TIGHTENED ALL FOUR STRAPS AND THE HELMET FEELS SECURE, LOCK THE BUCKLES INTO PLACE BY FEEDING THE END OF THE CHINSTRAP THROUGH THE SECOND SLOT OF EACH BUCKLE.

Follow these steps to ensure your X2 fits properly or reference the videos and additional tutorials on this page. Accessories such as Sizing Pads, Comfort Pads, and Jaw Guards are available to enhance your fit.

1MEASURE YOUR HEAD

Using a standard measuring tape, measure the circumference of your head. Then consult the Xenith X2 Size Chart and choose your correct size X2 helmet. The X2 can be ordered in "Snug" sizes which include thicker comfort pillows for additional sizing options.

2PROPER SETUP

Unbuckle all four snap buckles and feed the chinstraps through the first slot of the snap buckles only. This will make it easier to adjust the chinstraps during fitting. See that the high chinstrap runs in between the low chinstrap (as shown).

3SEAT THE HELMET ON YOUR HEAD

Use the image to the left and the diagram below to ensure the helmet is seated properly on your head. The front edge of the helmet should rest just above your brow, and not be rotated excessively forward or backward.

4CINCH THE LOW STRAPS BY PULLING FIRMLY OUTWARD

Pull the low chinstraps outward, which will cause the chincup to slide up to meet your chin, and the Shock Bonnet to snug down around your head. Be sure to pull evenly on both sides so that the chincup stays centered. Do not overtighten, as this may cause discomfort.

5ADJUST LOW BUCKLES AND SNAP INTO PLACE

Bring the low chinstraps under the jawline of the shell (as shown) and up to the snap. Then slide each buckle along the chinstrap and snap it into place, leaving minimal slack in the chinstrap.

6ADJUST THE HIGH CHINSTRAPS AND SNAP INTO PLACE

Pull the high chinstraps upward so that the chincup pivots under your chin. Slide the buckles down along each chinstrap and snap into place, leaving minimal slack in the chinstrap.

7CHECK FOR PROPER FIT AND ADJUST AS NEEDED

With all four buckles snapped into place, apply force to the facemask in multiple directions. If there is excessive movement, tighten the chinstraps further and readjust the buckles.

8FEED STRAPS THROUGH BUCKLES TO LOCK IN PLACE

Once you have tightened all four straps and the helmet feels secure, lock the buckles into place by feeding the end of the chinstrap through the second slot of the buckle.

1REMOVE FACEMASK FROM THE HELMET

With a Phillips-head screwdriver, take out all four screws from the facemask clips and remove the facemask. Using the same screwdriver, remove the two screws and T-nuts from the pre-installed eyeshield mounting brackets.

2ATTACH THE FACEMASK CLIPS

On your new facemask, push clips into position with the X logo facing out on each clip. Adjust so each clip lines up with a T-nut, sticking out slightly on the front and side of the helmet.

3LINE-UP YOUR NEW FACEMASK

Place the front clips into position over the T-nuts, with a finger holding the T-nuts in place from behind. Then, align the side clips into position.

4SECURE YOUR FACEMASK

Place the screws through the clips at the top of the facemask and into the T-nut to secure. Do not overtighten. Tighten these screws first, then tighten the screws on either side of the helmet.

1REMOVE THE EXISTING CHIN CUP

Undo all snap buckles from the helmet and remove buckles from the chin straps. Then, pull the chin cup so it slides off the low chin straps to remove.

2ATTACH THE NEW CHIN CUP TO THE LOW CHIN STRAP

With your new chin cup positioned upright and forward-facing, pull the low chin straps through the slots of the chin cup, then through just the first slot of the snap buckles in the direction of the arrows.

3LOCK YOUR CHIN CUP INTO PLACE

Feed the end of the high chin strap under the facemask, then through the first slot of the snap buckles in the direction of the arrows. Adjust the buckles until the helmet fit is secure, then feed the chin straps through the second slot of the snap buckle to lock the fit in place.
